Ashlawn’s Math Coach
Ms. Estela Tice (Left)
I am a site-based Math Instructional Coach for Arlington Public Schools, where I identify staff learning needs, design and deliver appropriate individualized and group professional development to meet the diverse coaching needs of the teaching staff. I recently relocated to Arlington from Tampa, Florida where I served Hillsborough County Schools for 13 years as a dedicated educator, committed to student academic mastery and growing other educators in their content knowledge and pedagogical skill. I was a classroom teacher facilitating learning for students with diverse needs ranging from English Language Learners (ELL) to students with physical impairments, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Autism. My professional goal is to influence and support teachers in their craft for improving overall instruction, thus improving student engagement and student achievement. I live in Arlington with my husband Brian of 26 years. I have two young adult children. I received Educational Specialist degree from National Louis University (2017) in Tampa, Florida. Prior to serving Hillsborough County Schools as an educator, I managed Business Solutions and Industrial Change as a Business Analyst for 13 years. I earned a Master of Science in Applied Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology (1990) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Seton Hall University (1988) in New Jersey.
All Arlington students will construct a comprehensive and rigorous understanding of mathematics that they communicate and connect to the world around them. All students will be empowered and equipped to problem-solve and use the tools of mathematics to build and innovate their future world.
