Distance Learning and the Library
Dear Ashlawn Families,
During APS distance learning, your student may place holds on up to 5 print books at a time in our library catalog, Destiny Discover. Your hold will tell us which books you want, and after we have checked them out, you may come to Ashlawn on your book pickup day to get your student’s library books!
Which day is my book pickup day?
Tuesday: Student’s last name A – E
Wednesday: Student’s last name F – L
Thursday: Student’s last name M – Q
Friday: Student’s last name R – Z
Where and when can I pick up books on my pickup day?
Books will be available outside the main entrance of the school from 11:00-4:30.
How do I place a hold on books?
Step by step instructions in a PDF are also here.
Is there another way to place a hold?
Yes, you can fill out this Google Form to request books.
Using the form, however, you will not be able to request a specific book title.
How do I return books?
Place returned books in the labeled library bins outside of the main entrance M-F between 8:30 -4:30.
Following APS guidelines, returned books will sit for 7 days before being scanned and then cleaned.
Please note that returned books will continue to show up as “checked out” on your student’s library account for several days after being dropped off.
You are able to request additional holds during that wait time.
