Hello, my name is Ms. Brenda Rios I was born and raised in El Salvador I have worked at Ashlawn for more then 20 years as a Sped assistant ,Kindergarten assistant Pre K assistant and I am so excited this year is going to be wonderful. I have a son, a daughter and a grandson. I love hiking, walking I enjoy being outdoors
Ms. Morinatu Fafunwa
Hello, my name is Morinatu Fafunwa but I go by Ms. Morina at school. This will be my second year teaching at Ashlawn in the VPI classroom; and I am so excited for the year ahead! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Welfare from Virginia Commonwealth university ; and later became certified to teach primary (3-6) Montessori through the Washington Montessori Institute. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my dog Coco, reading, or doing anything arts and crafts related.
Ms. Velma Jones
Hi! I am Ms.Velma and I am the assistant teacher in your child classroom. This year will be my third year working at Ashlawn, but my first year working with pre-k. I enjoy working with and learning from the children and looking forward to the experience I will have this year. Fun Facts about me:I’m a mom of four.Pineapple is my favorite fruit.I have a dog named Karma.

Shawn Waddell M.Ed. George Mason University Have been teaching for 29 years Married and have one child Born in Maine Raised in Pennsylvania Teaching in Virginia for 22 years Interests; Viticulture, Golf and a die hard 49ers fan.

My name is Millie Jimenez. I have an associates degree in Early Childhood Education, bachelors in Psychology and masters in Special Education, Early Childhood. I I enjoy being out exploring, shopping, eating out and Latin dancing! My favorite children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar because it has a variety of concepts. My favorite part of teaching at Ashlawn is being surrounded by loving co-workers and students and feeling a sense of family unity.
